Jessie currently works at Business Development Bank of Canada, the only Canadian bank devoted exclusively to entrepreneurs, her role involves financing and advisory services, where she passionately supports Canadian businesses. In addition to her core responsibilities, Jessie serves as a Sales Enablement Champion, an Employee Engagement Lead, and a Brand Ambassador.
Jessie brings over 15 years’ experience in international business development and partnership, project management and stakeholder engagement. Her expertise spans diverse industries, including financial services, pharmaceuticals, supply chain solutions, international trade, consulting, and education.
Beyond her corporate roles, Jessie is a teacher, a Certified Integral and Resilience Coach. She teaches business subjects at the School of Business at Algonquin College, also teaches Mandarin Chinese language and culture to professionals including Foreign Service Officers at Global Affairs of Canada.
Jessie’s passion lies in building relationships, facilitating growth, and bridging cultures. Her dynamic perspective is rooted in her rich experience across various industries and geographies. Some of her notable accomplishments include initiating and organizing an entrepreneurship training trip to Shanghai for MBA students from University of Ottawa; leading cross-functional global teams for successful launches of medical devices in Singapore, South Korea, and Greater China; establishing a regional headquarters in Hong Kong, and implementing supply chain consolidation projects from Asia to Europe and the U.S. These achievements underscore her proficiency in strategic initiatives and capacity to deliver impactful results.
Jessie is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Shanghainese, she holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Ottawa and Bachelor of Business Administration from City University of Hong Kong. She was selected for the Asian Management Accelerator Program delivered by McKinsey & Company.
